It is proposed that the City of Danville apply for $1,100,000 in Fiscal Year 2019 Revenue Sharing Program Funds and $1,200,000 in Fiscal Year 2020 Revenue Sharing Program funds for construction of various street improvement projects as identified below:
FY2019 River District street and right of way improvements on South Union Street between Main Street and Patton Street.
FY2019 River District street and right of way improvements on the 600 block of Main Street between Ridge Street and Floyd Street.

FY2020 General Street and right of way improvements on Riverside Drive and Audubon Drive.
FY2020 Concrete base removal and roadway reconstruction on Riverside Drive Eastbound and Westbound lanes Arnett Boulevard to Locust Lane.
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has requested cities and counties submit applications for Fiscal Year 2019 and Fiscal Year 2020 Revenue Sharing Program Funds. VDOT recently changed the program to a biennial application cycle meaning that localities will apply for two application cycles every two years starting this year. The current estimated total program funding amount is $100 million per year and the maximum annual award limit to any locality is $5 million. The Revenue Sharing funds must be matched with local Capital Improvement funds. Applications can be submitted for eligible projects as defined by the VDOT Revenue Sharing Guidelines. A Resolution from City Council is required to be submitted with each application.
It is recommended that City Council approve the accompanying Resolutions requesting the Virginia Department of Transportation to allocate Fiscal Year 2019 and Fiscal Year 2020 Revenue Sharing Program funds for various street improvement projects.
