SUMMARY
Virginia law requires the City Council to petition the court, by resolution, asking that a referendum be held on the question of whether casino gaming shall be permitted within the City of Danville, Virginia. The attached resolution directs the City Attorney to file, in the Circuit Court on behalf of the City Council for the City of Danville Virginia, a petition for a writ of election to hold a referendum on the question of casino gaming at the former Dan River Mills Schoolfield Division Site located at 1100 West Main Street, Danville, Virginia 24541.
