COUNCIL ACTION |
Work Session: 11/15/2022 |
SUMMARY |
City Staff is seeking approval to transfer ownership of three surplus vacant lots along Shelton Street to the Danville Redevelopment and Housing Authority to promote development in line with the Monument-Berryman Master Plan. |
BACKGROUND |
The City owns three vacant lots along Shelton Street in the Monument-Berryman area identified as Parcels #21598, 21599, and 21600, that were acquired in 1980. These lots were the former Shelton Street Park which was decommissioned in 2011. There are currently not any limitations on the disposition or use of the lots.
City Staff have determined that the City has no current or future intended use for the lots, and they appear to be surplus to the needs of the City. City Staff wishes to transfer the surplus lots to the Danville Redevelopment and Housing Authority to incorporate them into the development plan for the Monument-Berryman area. |
RECOMMENDATION |
City staff recommends approving the transfer of Parcels #21598, 21599, and 21600 on Shelton Street to the DRHA to help redevelop the area. |
