Meeting Date: 05/03/2022
Subject:    Consideration of Zoning Ordinance Amendment Regarding Parking Inside Buildings and on Building Roofs.
From: Doug Plachcinski

COUNCIL ACTION
Business Meeting:     05/03/2022
SUMMARY
Rezoning application, PZ22-63, Initiated by the Planning Director, reduces the required parking stall width to eight (8’) feet, six (6") inches and depth to 18’ for parking spaces inside buildings and on building roofs in Zoning Ordinance Article 8.D.5.

BACKGROUND
Indoor parking tolerates smaller spaces and these are standard sizes.  With more potential indoor and deck parking heading toward our community, this simple and standard reduction promotes efficient and sustainable development.

The Planning Commission, at their April 11, 2022, meeting, voted 7-0 to recommend approval of Zoning Ordinance Amendment PZ22-63.

RECOMMENDATION
The Planning Commission recommended that City Council approve a Zoning Ordinance Text Amendment reducing the required parking stall width to eight (8’) feet, six (6") inches, and depth to 18’ for parking spaces inside buildings and on building roofs in Zoning Ordinance Article 8.D.5.
